Delta Thursday

At least I think it is Thursday...

Everyone who wanted to water ski has done so. Everyone else from our group left for a ride on the ski boat about two and a half hours ago leaving Matt and me in the anchorage to do... Nothing... In peace and quiet. Loving it... So relaxing. Too bad we have to go back to reality in a few days.
Joe water skiing with Matt driving the ski boat.  Carrie skiied Slalom style I think they called it, with one ski.

I made a movie of her actually skiing so all I have is this one picture of her before we pulled her out of the water.

Ah, yes, reality—it can be a bummer. That's probably why our brains evolved our skills for concocting our own personal illusions.
This ability wreaks havoc with rational discourse, of course, but at least it helps us get through the day—usually, at any rate.
Right now it seems to be helping a sizable number of members of the United States Congress to get through their individual days, if little to help the country as a whole.
I trust that you aren't missing the news out there among the tules!

By the way, PLEASE tell Scott & Kim I said "hi." Not to mention Matt (tell him too).
Is Scott & Kim's boat you mentioned the one that you sailed to Hawaii a year ago?

As you might be beginning to suspect, I'm twiddling my thumbs. Why, you might wonder.
Well, you see, your mom's at this ambulatory care center and I brought along her laptop planning to do some serious work. But I realized a bit belatedly that I'm on a public network and have no security for anything. Fortunately I use Google's two-step verification process, so at least I can log onto Gmail and Blolgspot....
Ha, last evening, when Mom was talking with Glenda and telling her about our walking on a section of the Appalachian Trail up in Vermont, I realized that the two mysterious signs we saw, "AT NORTH" and "AT SOUTH," meant "Appalachian Trail northward" and "Appalachian Trail southward"! I.e., one way would take us to Maine, the other to Alabama. "Take us" is lazy talk for "we'd have to walk for many, many days and no doubt suffer lots of blisters and probably fractures from falling down inclines—not to mention insect bites and...."

"Blolgspot" was of course a typo, but, hey!, it gives me another occasion to twiddle!
