Weekend Plans April 1-3

Well it has been pretty quiet in here lately, I know.  We've been to the boat and done a few little things, like install a new stereo, but we haven't done any big projects or gone anywhere.  We were supposed to cruise across the bay two weekends ago as part of a yacht club cruise out but the weather did not cooperate and the cruise out was cancelled.  There was actually a tornado nearby!  That is very unusual for this area.  We have had a lot of very powerful storms this year and so much rain that we may finally be out of drought after three years,  This, after the weather prognosticators told us in January that this would be a dry winter.

So on to our weekend plans!  Some friends who go to Angel Island a lot have rallied the troops and at least they and we are going this weekend!  Tomorrow, Thursday, is my last day at this job and I have been waiting to hear when I am flying to North Carolina for training for my new HOME BASED position.  I just heard that I do not have to fly until Monday, my first day of "work."  Hopefully Matt can get out of work early enough on Friday that we can head up to Angel Island that evening and stay until Sunday night!  YEA!  We were planning on going to Angel Island even if I flew out Sunday, we just didn't know when we'd have to leave.  It will be great to get away for two nights.

Now that we have found the camera (on the boat, of course!) I will take some new pictures.  All of our canvas is done and looks FANTASTIC.  Keith McElroy is truly an artist in canvas.  If you are in the Bay Area and need any canvas work done I am happy to recommend him.  Some of our friends have used him and said that he took longer than promised (though the work he did for them was great) but we did not have this issue at all.  Not sure if he is doing better time estimating or he is not as busy with the economy the way it is these days, but in any case we have no complaints on the timing, pricing or the quality of his work.  Let me know if you want his contact info.

Happy last day at your current job!
And may you and Sailor Matt have a lovely weekend on Angel Island. If you would (and can, now that you've found your camera), please take a photo of San Francisco for me, the St. Francis Yacht Club area, which I think you can see from Angel Island. Your mom and I lived just up from there (in an apartment on Jefferson Street, half a block from the Palace of the Legion of Honor) in 1967, before we moved to Mill Valley, then to San Rafael, then to Petaluma, then to San Jose, then to Chapel Hill...

Looking forward to seeing pictures of your canvas!
