North Fork

We took the ski boat up the North fork of the Mokelumne today ( after a wonderful late breakfast at Herman and Helen's). I must say it is much prettier than the South fork. We stopped for a quick drink and cool down at Giusti's and came home via the South fork. Tree lined banks vs rock covered berms? North fork wins.

Heat Wave

We're having a heat wave here in Northern California. It's supposed to be 108 in Sacramento (the Capitol, an hour away) tomorrow. It was 93 on the boat when we arrived around 8 pm. It's 10:30 pm now and we are sitting on the bow enjoying a light breeze while our portable AC runs in our cabin to try and cool it down before we go to bed tonight!

We have to be back in the Bay Area Sunday for a wedding so tomorrow we will play with the ski boat, then we will head back early Sunday for the wedding, we'll work Monday then come back Monday night and head out Tuesday to anchor out for the Hilton fireworks.

Private Island?!?

We had the pleasure of visiting Delta Yacht Club this past weekend. This is a beautiful private island just off the San Joaquin River not too far from Stockton. They were having an Open House and membership drive. They fed us dinner and let us spend the night on their dock. Their members are allowed unlimited use if the island and it's facilities. Let me tell you, I'm very tempted to join. It's not cheap... We're giving some serious thought to how much we'd use it.

Sunday morning we were waiting for a favorable current before we left so we worked on our to do list. Awhile back we bought one set of hinges to try on one if the engine room hatches. They were a bit difficult to install but it looks like they will work out well.

Mister!

Whomever invented the mister deserves a medal or a Nobel peace prize or something. Makes the unbearable heat almost pleasant. We're sitting on Hinky Dink, tied behind Pineapple Girl, after toodling around for about three hours in HD. Beautiful day but hot hot hot. Triple digits. Gotta love this yachting stuff.

Sunset

Absolutely glorious out. A fitting end to a wonderful day. The hum of cars on a bridge in the distance a soothing background noise to the sounds of the birds roosting in the trees encircling our anchorage as we relax on our fly bridge, enjoying the setting sun and cooling breeze.

Float Plane

Just got buzzed by a float plane. Anchored out in what must be one of the better places on this Earth.
